What's inside

You built your site with AI. It works, it's live, you were pretty chuffed with yourself.

Then you started spotting it everywhere else.

You know the look

  • The purple-to-blue gradient.
  • The little grey label sitting above every heading.
  • Three rounded cards in a row.
  • The same soft font you've now seen on a hundred other pages this month.

That's the catch with AI-built pages — they all reach for the same look. Not because your prompt was rubbish. Because the model has a "safe" default, and everyone's landing on the exact same one. Your customer can't tell you why, but their gut goes "oh, one of these again."

Here's the fix. Free, one command, and genuinely clever.

Hallmark is a free design skill you add to Claude Code (or Cursor, or Codex). It runs your page through 57 "slop-test" checks — the specific tells that make a page read as AI-made — and comes with 20 real design themes to rebuild from.

Free & open source Works in Claude Code, Cursor or Codex 57 slop-test checks 20 real design themes 17,000+ GitHub stars

Where it comes from

It's made by Together AI and it's properly battle-tested — more than 17,000 stars on GitHub. You can see the whole thing here: github.com/Nutlope/hallmark.

In plain English: it knows what "AI-made" looks like, it can spot it on your page, and it hands you real design directions to replace it with — instead of the same safe default.

This is the whole setup. Open Claude Code (or Cursor / Codex) and run this one line:

Install command
npx skills add nutlope/hallmark

That's it — one line

No account, no config, no faffing about. The only thing you need first is Claude Code, Cursor or Codex already installed. Once this runs, Hallmark is ready and the three commands below just work.

Once it's installed, these are the three commands you'll actually use. Copy each one, swap in your own site where needed, and run it.

1. Audit what you've got. Point it at your live site and it scores the page — telling you exactly which bits scream "AI made this." (The video called it "roasting your website for free." Fair.)

Audit your site

2. Redesign the pages that need it. This reworks the page against those 57 checks using a proper design theme instead of the default. It's the one that actually fixes the problem.

3. Study a site you love. Point it at a site you admire and it learns that site's design DNA — the spacing, the type, the feel — so you build in the same spirit. It won't pixel-copy, which is exactly what you want.

Study a site you admire

Where to start

Run the audit first. It's free, it's fast, and it shows you the exact tells on your own page — which makes the redesign obvious once you get there. Swap <url> in the study command for the address of the site you want to learn from.

No catch, no upsell hiding at the end. Hallmark is open source under the MIT licence — free to install, free to use, yours to keep.

Not techy? Doesn't matter. If you can build a page with AI, you can run one more command to make it not look like AI built it.

Start with the audit

Install Hallmark, run hallmark audit on your live site, and read what it flags. That one step tells you whether your page is wearing the AI uniform — and exactly what to change if it is.

Then, when you're ready, run the redesign and watch the tell-tale look disappear. That's the free fix — and it's genuinely a few minutes' work.
